First post - a chickpea is born

Once upon a time, in a usenet group long long ago, there was a post by a rather strident fellow who took offense to the idea that a coffee substitute could be made by roasting chickpeas.  His extreme intractable viewpoint demanded a response, and thus Harry Chickpea was born, with powers far beyond the common chickpea; the ability to jump on keyboard keys and tap out messages, to out-extreme the most extreme, to bring humor into subjects, and sneak byte sized bits of education and common sense into the soup of the internet.

It wasn't long before the newborn chickpea was mercilessly attacked by trolls and extremists from all walks of life, but he persisted and his powers grew stronger with every encounter, bringing truth, justice, and the American chickpea way.  His posts on usenet and such forums as City-Data have been read millions of times by millions of readers.

Until now, the chickpea posts have been responses within the context of various forum threads.  After over fifteen years of literally thousands and thousands of posts it is time for the viewpoints expressed by this chickpea to have their own home.

The subjects of the various blog entries will vary, with some dedicated to exposing mainstream media errors, some to frugal living, some to challenging common thought, and some to presenting an independent world view.  Expect the unexpected.
